I was reminded of my favorite childhood toy this weekend; a stuffed orca whale I named Whaley. I got him when I was just a few years old, and he's one of my only surviving plushes. One time, when I was like 8 or so, my family and I drove out to Mt. Aerie (sp?) or some place quite far from our house in Bethesda. On the way home, I left Whaley in a McDonald's we stopped at, and somehow didn't notice until we got home (real special toy, huh?).
So my dad drove all the way back to the McDonald's to get him.
I thought about the story and laughed, but then it occurred to me that my dad had gone so far out of his way just to get my stuffed animal back. I guess he was a pretty good father after all.
Oh, and by the way I had a tick on the back of my knee today. It sucked. A lot.
